Beneath The Noise

a place to find some of my latest projects

Welcome!!! March 20, 2010

Hello wonderful readers!!!  Welcome to the Helmar USA blog hop!  I’m so excited that you are here!!!

As you can see each of our design team members is showcasing a different Helmar product.  I was so lucky that I got to choose the Crackle Medium!!!!

I like to refer to it as Snap Crackle Pop!  It’s a snap to use, you get a super cool crackle texture on your projects that really make them pop!  Cool huh!

Crackle Medium can be used on all sorts of surfaces – canvas, chipboard, wood, paper, fabric, plastic, metal, ceramics and more!  And can be used for all your altered needs from frames and letters to larger customized projects.

What is super cool about Helmar products and Crackle Medium in particular is that it dries super fast and is acid free.  It is also non yellowing and cleans up super easy with soap and water.

Want to win some Crackle Medium?!?!?  Simply leave me a comment.  I’ll pick a winner on Monday!!! Good luck!!

Here’s the project I made

To create this project I used products from Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker including the chipboard house I first painted it with brown acrylic paint and then applied Step 1 of the Crackle Medium and allowed to dry.  This drying process took maybe 15 minutes.  I then applied Step 2 of the Crackle Medium and allowed to dry.  I went out to dinner so I’m not sure how long it took to give me that awesome crackle texture but by the time I got back it was done.  I used a liberal portion of Step 2 to create deep crackles on my project but you can experiment with amounts to apply to create smaller crackles or even larger depending on your project needs!

To make the crackles really sing I swiped white pigment ink by Clearsnap and then wiped off the excess allowing the pigment ink to sink into the cracks.  I then used all my wonderful products from Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker to create this super easy, fun project!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you need to know where to go next go check out Marci’s blog!Marci Knecht

Or if you think you missed any blog here is the complete list.  Remember each design team member is giving away a different adhesive choice!!!
